EXOR Studios, an independent game development company is proud to announce its first commercial PC title - Zombie Driver™ - an action driving game with a top down perspective and a dynamic helicopter chase camera. Fight your way through the streets of a zombie infested city to save the survivors of a disastrous chemical accident that changed most of the city's population into mindless brain hungry monsters.
We spoke with the Chief Operating Officer of EXOR Studios, Pawel Lekki,
about ZOMBIE DRIVER.
The Big Bad Wolf: Can you give us a synopsis of ZOMBIE DRIVER?
Pawel Lekki: Zombie Driver is an action driving game with a classic top down
perspective. The game's story takes place in a city after a mysterious
chemical accident that turned most of its inhabitants into brain hungry
zombies. The player gets behind the wheel of his car and races against
the clock to save the survivors of the accident. The game has a very
arcade feel and the player can drive with 6 different vehicles all of
which are upgradeable. He can make combo kills, side quests and search
for hidden money caches to earn money for which he can buy upgrades for
his cars.
The Big Bad Wolf:
How did this zombie outbreak occur?
Pawel Lekki:
A mysterious accident at the local chemical factory has caused the leak
of an unknown substance that turned most people and animals into
zombies. The nature of this accident is unknown and the player will
learn more during the course of the game. The city is quarantined by the
army, but bureaucracy stops any rescue attempts from officially being
made. Some news reporters are claiming that a certain corporation is
trying to slow down any rescue attempts...
The Big Bad Wolf: Who are the main characters in the game?
Pawel Lekki:
The main hero doesn't have a name. All that is known is that he survived
the accident and has enough driving skill to fight the zombie menace
with his car. A second plan character in the game is an army general,
who commands the quarantine operation and gives information and missions
to the hero driver.
The Big Bad Wolf:
What can we expect from this game in terms of blood and gore?

Pawel Lekki:
Gallons of blood, tons of corpses and exaggerated gut explosions. Zombie
Driver doesn't try to be realistic in this matter - expect
"Braindead"/"Dead Alive" levels of gore.
The Big Bad Wolf: Slamming through zombies will definitely affect the resale value of the car. Is there a way to repair the vehicle?
Pawel Lekki:
Yes. You can find repair pickups around the city and the car is
automatically repaired between missions.
The Big Bad Wolf: What kind of guns and upgrades to the car can you purchase?
Pawel Lekki: Miniguns, flamethrower, rocket launchers, dual railguns and nitro boost.
Each weapon has three upgrade levels which change its visual appearance
as well as effectivenes e.g. a fully upgraded rocket launcher fires two
rockets instead of one.
The Big Bad Wolf: Are you able to change views or is there only the above “helicopter” view?
Pawel Lekki: No. There is only one available view, but it adjusts dynamically based
on the car's speed and maneuvering.
The Big Bad Wolf: When will this game be available and for what systems?
Pawel Lekki: Zombie Driver is coming in November to Windows PC. I can't confirm any
more platforms at this time but we would love to create a version also
for Linux and Mac users. It would be great to see Zombie Driver on XBLA
and PSN but it's not certain yet. Releasing it on other platforms
depends on many factors.
The Big Bad Wolf: Where can our readers find out more about ZOMBIE DRIVER?
Pawel Lekki: All official information is available at www.zombiedriver.com and we
would also like to meet you on Facebook as well as Twitter.
The
Big Bad Wolf: In closing, what would you like to say to our readers about ZOMBIE DRIVER?
Pawel Lekki:
Thanks for reading and prepare for some bloody good driving in November!
The Big Bad Wolf: Thank you for your time,
Pawel! Best of luck with ZOMBIE DRIVER!
