(Castlevania) It is now 1691 and Dracula has returned from his second century long sleep. This time the great grandson of Soleiyu is there to take up the vampire killer, his name is Simon Belmont. Simon returns to Dracula’s castle and after defeating his minions, kills Dracula. He manages to escape but not before Dracula places a curse on Simon.

(Castlevania Simon’s Quest) Seven years have gone by and Simon is still suffering from Dracula’s curse. He is dying slowly and painfully with wounds that never heal. Simon then has a vision. A maiden tells him that to break the curse, he must find Dracula’s 5 body parts that have been scattered in castle’s all over Transylvania. Simon must go across different lands where Dracula’s minions come out at night to fight him. He eventually does find all the pieces and fights Dracula who has become a zombie of his former self. Simon defeats Dracula and is healed in the process. Simon returns to his home and lives a normal life. In 1730, Juste Belmont, the grandson of Simon, is born.

In 1746 Juste inherits the vampire killer. Juste’s friend, Maxim Kischine, begins to feel jealous of Juste receiving the legendary weapon. He goes out on his own journey to train himself for greatness. He follows the journey of Simon and recovers Dracula’s body parts. Dracula then possesses Maxim and two Demon castles appear and relics are separated throughout both. (Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance/Concerto of a Midnight Sun) Two years later, Maxim , under the control of Dracula, kidnaps a childhood friend of both him and Juste, named Lydie Erlanger. Maxim returns home and tells Juste of the kidnapped, having no memory of the act himself. The two invade both castles in the hope of saving Lydie. As Maxim proceeds he begins to remember what he has done. In response, Dracula increases his hold on Maxim. As Juste recovers the relics in the castle he returns to find that Maxim has been completely taken over by Dracula. Juste frees Maxim and then faces Dracula fully formed. Juste defeats Dracula and the three escape the crumbling castle just in time.

Juste and Lydie fall in love, the soon and marry. In 1773 Lydie gives birth to Richter and Tara Belmont. Soon enough Richter will inherit his family’s curse. In 1792 the counts minions kidnap Richter’s sister and Richter must take up the vampire hunter to rescue his family.
